Yemen to partake in UN General Assembly meetings

SANA'A, Sep. 17 (Saba) - Foreign
Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi is to represent Yemen in the General Assembly meetings of
the
United Nations to be kicked off on September 23rd in New York, USA, the weekly 26
September reported on Thursday.

The Minister, to be head for New York next Sunday, will deliver Yemen's speech in
the meeting, focusing on the internal situations and the government efforts in the
political,
development and administration reforms.
Al-Qirbi said that the he would show the Yemeni attitude towards the current Arab
issues, topped by the situations in Palestine, Iraq, Somalia and Sudan, in addition
to
the reforms in UN systems.
On the sidelines of the meetings, al-Qirbi will participate in further meetings of
Arab Foreign Ministers and Organization of Islamic Conference Foreign Ministers in
addition
to the Foreign Ministers' meeting of the Group of 77 (G-77).
Foreign Minister will hold several talks with UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon, UN
Under-Secretary-General for humanitarian Affairs, Russian Foreign Minister,
assistants
of US Secretary of State.
The meetings aim to enhance the existing bilateral relations between Yemen and each
of UN, Russia and the USA as well as discussing several international and regional
issues
of common concerns, He said.
