HOUSE COMMITTEE ENDORSES 2010 STATE BUDGET BILL
Jakarta, Sept 18 (ANTARA) - The House of Representatives (DPR)'s Budget Committee here Friday endorsed the bill on the 2010 State Budget.
At a working meeting with the government at the parliament building which ended in the wee hours of Friday, 10 factions in the Budget Committee agreed to endorse the bill and get it passed into law at a House plenary meeting.
Present at the meeting were Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, State Minister for National Development Planning Paskah Suzetta and Bank Indonesia Senior Deputy Governor Darmin Nasution.
The government has set state expenditure in the draft 2010 state budget at Rp1,047.6 trillion, or Rp44.67 trillion higher than the 2009 state budget's.
The 2010 state spending consists of Rp725.2 trillion in the central government spending and Rp322.4 trillion in funds transferred to regions.
The central government spending consists of personnel spending worth Rp160,312.8 billion, goods spending Rp102,959,3 billion, capital spending Rp83,243.9 billion, and interest payments Rp115,594.6 billion.
The other central government expenditures are non-energy subsidy worth Rp51,293.6 billion, grant Rp7,092 billion, social aid Rp69,582.4 billion and other spending Rp28,637.8 billion.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said priority programs to be funded by the 2010 state budget included improvement of the people's welfare, development of infrastructure facilities and promotion of the agricultural sector.
"We will also encourage revitalization of the industrial and real sectors, implement bureaucratic reforms, and raise budget for the procurement of armament system and increase budget for the education sector by 20 percent," she said.***
