KABUL-PARLIAMENT 2LAST

The Afghan Parliament is coming up in 86 acres of land
while Indian Chancery building is being constructed in 5 acres
of land in Kabul.

"The two-storeyed Parliament building will be 18 metre in
height with a basement. The design has been finalised by our
architects keeping the local architecture in mind," said the
CPWD official.

Construction of Parliament and chancery buildings are
likely to be completed by 2011.

Though work is going on smoothly there are problems in
communicating with the staff due to the installation of
jammers there.

"We find it difficult in communicating with our project
manager due to the jammers," said the official who, however,
added there has been no major problem so far. PTI
