Prime Minister is absolutely fine:Docs
New Delhi, Sep 20 (PTI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh
on Sunday underwent a routine health check-up, ahead of his
visit to the US next week, and doctors said he is absolutely
fine.
The check up was conducted by a team of four doctors led
by Dr Srinath Reddy, chief of the Prime Minister's treatment
committee, three days prior to his visit to the US to attend
the G-20 Summit.
The 76-year-old Prime Minister underwent a routine
health checkup and he is absolutely fine, said Dr Reddy.
The team of doctors included Dr Ramakant Panda, the
surgeon who conducted the heart operation on the Prime
Minister in January.
After the checkup, Dr Panda said the Prime Minister "is
in the pink of his health", according to official sources.
He needs just one check-up every year as he is
religiously following his diet as prescribed by the doctors
and also exercising regularly, they said.
Singh will be heading the Indian delegation for the
G-20 Summit to be held from September 24-25 in Pittsburg in
the US.
The Prime Minister had undergone a redo by-pass surgery
here in January this year which was conducted by a joint team
of Mumbai's Asian Heart Institute (AHI) and All India
Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) doctors led by Dr Panda.
