TAMAN SAFARI OFFERS 'SWIM WITH CROCODILES'
Bogor, W Java, Sept 21 (ANTARA) - Taman Safari Indonesia (TSI), the premier tourist object in West Java's Puncak hill resort, offers visitors an opportunity to swim with crocodiles.
The new facility was the Safari Water Park's strongest crowd drawer when it opened on Sunday.
The park's spokesman, Yulius Suprihardo, told ANTARA the new feature was different from other water tourist attractions in the country because it was developed based on the concept of "animals are friends" and would be the highlight of the biggest zoo in the country.
"In the park, visitors can now swim along crocodiles, which is an experience not to be had in other water parks," he said.
The new facility of the zoo, which has been developed in a natural setting at the foot of Mount Pangrango, in Cisarua, became a magnet for Idul Fitri holiday makers.
"This is a present for our visitors," Yulius said.
The facility is also part of the zoo management's efforts to spoil visitors which would flock the zoo in the thousands during the Idul Fitri holiday season which could last a week.
The Safari Water Park sits on a two-hectare area of the 165- hectare zoo.
The chief of the Bogor police resort, Adjunct Commissioner Hendra Gunawan said here on Monday thousands of cars and motobikes had packed the road to Puncak since in the morning on Monday, mostly going towards Taman Safari.
He said he was forced to impose a one-way traffic only on the road to avoid traffic jams.
