Hyundai Motor aims for 17.2 pct rise in auto sales in Europe

FRANKFURT, Sept. 23 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's largest
automaker, said Wednesday it aims to sell 17.2 percent more vehicles in 2009 in
the European market than last year due to rising demand for small cars.

Hyundai plans to sell 336,000 vehicles in Europe this year, compared with 286,610
units sold in 2008, company officials said.
Hyundai said the European auto market has showed signs of a recovery, fueled by
incentive programs by governments for customers who buy a new small car to
replace their old one.
