Seoul shares trade 0.29 pct lower in late morning

SEOUL, Sept. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.29 percent lower late
Thursday morning as foreign and institutional investors dumped local shares on
profit taking, analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) dipped 4.92 points to
1,706.55 as of 11:20 a.m.
Foreign investors turned net sellers after a 14-day buying streak, taking
profits from recent rallies on the Seoul bourse.
Institutional investors continued their sell-off of local stocks for the sixth
straight session.
The local currency was trading at 1,195.5 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., down 1.1 won from Wednesday's close, as foreigners snapped up the
greenback.
