S. Korea allows overnight trading of KOSPI200 Futures
SEOUL, Sept. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's top financial watchdog granted approval
Thursday for the nation's bourse operator to expand trading hours for its
derivative product in a bid to boost the derivatives sector.
According to the Financial Services Commission, KOSPI200 Futures, which allows
investors to bet on future moves of the KOSPI200, a basket of 200 firms listed on
the main bourse, will be traded from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (local time). The
current trading hours span from 9:00 a.m. to 3:13 p.m.
The bourse operator Korea Exchange will launch the overnight market later this
year and the new trading hours will be subject to current rules, the financial
regulator said.
