RI BILLIARD TEAM SETS TARGET TO GRAB THREE GOLDS

Semarang, C Java, Sept 24 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian billiard team will try to grab three gold medals at the 25th SEA Games which will take place in Laos in December 2009, a spokesman said.

"If in the 24th SEA Games in Thailand we managed grab two gold medals only, in Laos, we hope to grab another gold," general chairman of the Association of All Indonesian Billiard Sports (POBSI), Tutuk Kurniawan said here on Thursday.

He pointed out that three gold medals are expected to be grabbed by Ricky for the nine balls of a single number, Muhammad Zulfikri eight balls of a single number, and eight female balls of a single number by Angel Magdalene Ticoalu.

In addition to an opportunity to grab the golds, Indonesia has a chance to get another gold from the nine balls of the double number by the couple of M. Bewi Simanjuntak with M. Zulfikri.

"We will try our best achieve the targets and a national training course (Pelatnas) in Semarang can be used for hard training," said Tutuk who is also Vice Chairman of III (budget planning) of the Central Java Indonesian Sports Association (KONI) of Central Java Province.

At the 2007 SEA Games in Thailand, billiard contributed two golds from Ricky Yang (9-ball number) and Angelina Magdalena Ticoalu (ball-8), one a silver from Angelina Magdalena and a bronze from Kiong Tan An (carom number). ***4***
