Shinhan Bank's branch office closed amid flu fears
SEOUL, Sept. 25 (Yonhap) -- Shinhan Bank, South Korea's third-largest bank, has
shut down a regional branch office after one of its workers tested positive for
the H1N1 virus in a precautionary move to stem the spread of the contagious
disease among its employees and customers, bank officials said Friday.
The office located in Seoul will close its door temporarily with medical tests
underway for the infected worker, they added. It is not immediately known until
when it will stay shut.
The move comes amid growing concerns that the new influenza is spreading fast in
South Korea. So far, the country has reported over 15,000 type-A flu cases, with
11 people having died as a result of the flu.
