SIBAL-BRUMBY 2 LST

"We expressed our concerns at the unsavoury incidents
that have occurred and are continuing to take place. Brumby
assured us that strong action would be taken against the
perpetrators and that they will inform us about the
prosecution," he said.

The education agents working for Australian universities
here recruit Indian students. They provide incorrect
information and dupe students, Sibal alleged.

He also asked Brumby to provide data about the education
agents working in India. The government can prosecute the
unscrupulous agents under the proposed malpractice law, Sibal
said.

Besides, HRD Ministry and the education department of
Australia will appoint one nodal officer each to look into the
issue of students' problem.

They will share data about education agents, most of whom
are from Australia, Sibal said. PTI BKM
