EIGHT DIE AS BUS HITS SEDAN
Subang, Indonesia, Sept 26 (ANTARA) - Eight people died on the spot and seven others were seriously wounded when a tourist bus hit a sedan parked on a roadside in Emen, Ciater, Subang, West Java, Saturday afternoon.
Solihah who survived the incident said the bus carrying 25 people was just leaving the Tangkuban Perahu tourism resort and headed to Subang on the way home.
Upon descending a slope in Emen, the bus' brakes failed to work causing the vehicle to run out of control and to eventually hit a the sedan which was parked on the roadside 400 meters away.
The bus then rolled over its left side while the sedan was only drawn to the left side a bit. When the incident happened none was in the sedan car as its owner was just having lunch in a foodstall nearby.
All of the victims were bus passengers hailing from Tangerang, Banten.
According to the hospital in Ciereng, Subang, it had received all the wounded passengers and the body of one person who died in the accident. The others were still kept at a community health center on Jalan Cagak.
The police were still conducting an investigation into the accident while the identities of the victims and the bus driver were still not known.***
