Daegu Bank to hold investor fairs in New York

DAEGU, Sept. 27 (Yonhap) -- Daegu Bank, a South Korean regional lender, was set
to launch a series of investor relations sessions this week in New York and other
U.S. cities to lure foreign institutional investors, bank officials said Sunday.
The events are part of efforts by Daegu Bank Chief Executive Officer Ha Chun-soo
to attract foreign investors after he completed reorganizing the bank to improve
its net interest margin.
In the U.S., Ha will meet face-to-face with prospective institutional investors
to detail the bank's management plans, according to bank officials.
In the second quarter of this year, Daegu Bank posted a net profit of 50 billion
won (US$42.1 million), down 29.8 percent from the same period a year ago.
But the bank's net interest margin, a gauge of profitability, rose slightly from
a year earlier, it said.
