Foreign support for unity, security, stability of Yemen

NEW YORK, Sep. 27 (Saba)-
The United States, the Gulf Cooperation Council, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq have
expressed full
support for the unity, security and stability of Yemen and efforts of President Ali
Abdullah Saleh for a peaceful dialogue.

On the sidelines of meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New
York, those countries' Foreign Ministers held a meeting to discuss the recent
situations
in Yemen.
In their press release, the Ministers further noted their concern for the situation
in Yemen.
"The Ministers underscored the importance of ensuring the security of civilians and
relief workers, and the provision for the safe passage of emergency relief supplies
to
civilians affected by the conflict", the statement added.
The Ministers reiterated their support for the Yemeni government's economic and
governance reform initiatives, and their willingness to continue to assist Yemen in
improving
the lives of its people.
Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi welcomed the ministerial statement of Foreign
Ministers of The United States, the Gulf Cooperation Council, Egypt, Jordan and
Iraq on
the situations in Yemen.
Speaking to Saba, al-Qirbi said that the statement had reflected those countries'
fixed positions that support the unity, security and stability of Yemen and its
efforts
to combat terrorism and the rebellion.
