Israeli Occupation Forces Set Up Special Military Tribunals for Palestinian Children

Ramallah, September 27, SPA -- The Palestinian Center for Defense of
Freedoms and Civil Rights "Huriyyat" has condemned the decision of
the Commander of Central Region of Israeli Occupation Army Gadi
Shamni on setting up special military tribunals for Palestinian
children detained in Israeli prisons.

In a statement issued here today, the Center said it considered
this decision as a flagrant violation of the international
humanitarian law particularly international conventions on the rights
of children, calling for an international movement to abort this
decision.

It noted that more than 400 Palestinian children have been subjected
to the worst forms of torture in Israeli prisons.
