MORE REBEL FATALITIES AS FIGHTING CONTINUES

SANA'A, Sep. 27 (Saba) - As the army continues to get rid many
northern areas of insurgents, causing them big live and material
losses, a military source has said dozens of the Houthi rebels were
killed in several areas in Yemen's northern provinces of Saada and
Amran.

30 Houthi followers were killed in the area of al-Shaqra'a and
dozens of them were killed in war-focal points of Harf Sufyan in
Amran and Almalaheedh in Saada, the source said.

Among the dead were a rebel field leader and a terrorist, who were
killed while trying to infiltrate into al-Shaqra'a area, which is
now under the army control.

Other rebels including field leaders were hurt.

The troops have also defused landmines planted by the Houthis which
mainly blocked the job of relief agencies and targeted the lives of
the people, the source said.

Meanwhile, the source accused the rebels of displacing many
families, forcing them to leave their homes and taking over their
properties.

Hundreds of rebels have been killed since the army launched an
expanded offensive against them last month. Many others were
arrested and weapons were seized and destroyed as well.
