QUAKE STRIKES N SULAWESI
Bandarlampung, Sept 27 (ANTARA) - A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck 2.67 degrees north latitude and 125.96 degrees east longtitude 116 kilometers southeast of Tahuna in North Sulawesi, Sunday at 10.16 p.m local time.
According to the meteorology, climatology and geophysics agency, the depth of the quake was located 30 kilometers, but it did not have a potential to trigger a tsunami.
The tremor's epicenter was located 160 kilometers northeast of Bitung in North Sulawesi, 167 kilometers southwest of Melonguane in North Sulawesi, 181 kilometers northeast of Manado also in North Sulawesi, and 262 kilometers southwest of Ternate in North Maluku.
