BINTAN GETS PATA AWARD

Tanjungpinang, Sept 28 (ANTARA) - The district of Bintan, Riau Islands Province, Indonesia, and PT Bintan Cakrawala Resort (BRC) Lagoi, have received a Grand Award from the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) for their success in carrying out educational programs.

The award which was provided for only four countries, was directly received by Bintan District Chief Ansar Ahmad and a BRC representative in Hangzhou, China.

Besides Indonesia (represented by Bintan), other recipient countries were Malaysia, India and Macao. "We are proud of receiving an international award in the educational field for Bintan district," Ansar Ahmad said after a post-fasting month halal bihalal get-together function.

He said that the award reflected the achievement of Bintan and the regional government's care for education as well as the achievement of the tourism operator in Bintan.
