TWENTY NINE SHIPS FOR SAIL INDONESIA HAVE ARRIVED IN BALI
Singaraja, Sept 28 (ANTARA) - A total of 29 ships from various countries which are to take part in Sail Indonesia have arrived at Lovina waters, Buleleng district, Bali, a local tourism official said.
Head of Buleleng's Tourism and Cultural Services Putu Tastra Wijaya said here on Monday that the foreign ships had berthed at Lovina despite the fact that the Sail Indonesia event would take place on September 30, 2009.
"Sail Indonesia will proceed for five days until October 4, 2009. It is expected to be attended by about 165 ships and involves about 400 tourists from Europe and Asia," he said.
He said that the event would be enlivened with Balinese arts and cultures during which paintings and handicraft product exhibitions would also be held.
Foreign guests who wanted to observe Buleleng's tourism objects would be welcomed with different kinds of local dances on October 2, 2009. There are two popular local dances, namely the Sweta Bangkaja and the Gita Bahari dances, which would be presented.
"The dances, which are to be held with percussion music will constitute a collaboration between the Balinese and Javanese dances which are arranged by percussion artists from Buleleng," he said.
