President heads a meeting for NDC

SANA'A, Sep.28 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah
Saleh headed on Monday a meeting for the National Defense Council (NDC) over
current situation
in Saada province.

The meeting discussed efforts exerted by the state to avoid a choice of war which
was imposed by rebels who rejected all calls for peace including a recent
initiative of
six points to stop military operations and a call of president Saleh in his speech
to the nation in Eid al Fatr.
The council said that the only choice for the rebels was to respond to the six
points in order to achieve peace in the province.
In the meeting, the council listened to a report presented by the minister of
defense over military operations taken place to bring an end for the sedition and
achievements
of the army in the battlefield against rebels in some districts of Saada and Harf
Sufyabn district of Amran province.
The minister pointed out to the role of the honest people of these regions in
supporting armed and security forces to fight these elements of rebellion.
The council highly appreciated brave role of the armed and security forces to face
these element, pointing out to the popular relief convoys sent to armed forces and
displaced
people.
