The policemen are arrested

Astana, September 29, 2009 (Khabar) - Two security officers of Almaty’s Bostandyk police department systematically bought drugs, it became known during press briefing Ministry of Internal Affairs has learned. Head of press service of the Ministry Kuanyshbek Zhumanov has reported that the security management of Almaty department of interior affairs had received such a message.

Kuanyshbek Zhumanov, the spokesman of Ministry of Interior Affairs of Kazakhstan:
- A matchbox with two plastic bags with about one gram of heroin was found in a car. Yesterday security management of Almaty department of interior affairs began criminal proceedings according to part 3 of article 259 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ie possession of drugs in large scale. Investigation will determine for what purposes heroin was obtained.

The briefing has also reported about results of campaign “Rustler”. 150 facts of theft of cattle were revealed during three days, 172 suspected were arrested and 8 large bands that stole cattle were seized. In general, policemen last week registered 1 877 crimes including 176 in sphere of illegal turnover of drugs.
