Somali refugees' conditions in Lahj discussed

LAHJ, Sep.29 (Saba) - Lahj Governor
Muhasen al-Naqib discussed here on Tuesday with United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees
(UNHCR)'s office in Aden fields of cooperation for offering services to Somali
refugees.

The meeting reviewed a number of issues related to refugees' conditions in Kharaz
camp, Lahj province, in addation to the activities and services presented by the
UNHCR's
office in Aden to develop the refugees' health, educational, and security conditions.
The two sides affirmed the necessity of developing the cooperation between the
local authority and UNHCR to reinforce the security protection for Somali refugees
in the
camp and securing security and stability for citizens in the neighboring areas.
The governor urged the camp's officials and UNHCR's office in Aden to expand their
efforts to improve the living conditions of refugees and providing them with the
necessary
services.
Al-Naqib confirmed the local authority's readiness to present all facilities to the
UNHCR's office to continue and carry out its humanitarian missions.
