$ 2 MLN IN SAUDI AID FOR YEMEN DISPLACED

SANA'A, Sep. 30 (Saba) - Saudi Arabia has provided $ 2 million in aid for the war-displaced people in northern Yemen, minister of Public Health and Population has said.

Abdul Karim Ras'a also said that Yemen and Saudi Arabia were discussing the establishment of a displaced camp at the Alib crossing to house 2000 refugees as well as allowing relief agencies to deliver aid for the affected there.

The government has offered more than a million dollars for more than 150,000 who fled the fighting between the army and the Houthi insurgents in Saada and Amran, he said.

At the Geneva recent meeting, international relief organizations asked for $ 23 million in aid for the war-affected in Yemen.

"The World Health Organization provides $ 3 million in Yemen aid, and in emergency cases the aid increases to $ 22 million", Ras'a said.
