LD SHINEY TWO

It was not immediately known if he would fly to Delhi on
Saturday night or Sunday in accordance with court's directive.

"There are two aspects in such cases-an accused may
try to flee or tamper with the evidence. In this case, since
he is a permanent resident of Mumbai, he may not try to flee
and to ensure that there is no tampering of evidence, certain
conditions must be put," Justice A P Deshpande had observed.

Shiney, who hails from Delhi, will have to report to
the police station nearest to his place of stay at regular
intervals.

Earlier, the actor's bail plea had been rejected twice
by the lower court following which he moved the High Court.

Shiney's lawyers had argued that medical and other
evidence suggested that intercourse was with the girl's
consent. As per medical reports, there were no injuries on
Shiney's body barring one between two fingers of his hand,
they contended.

Shiney's counsel Shirish Gupte while seeking bail for
his client had claimed that there was consensual sex as
the domestic help had called the actor from her mobile phone
ten times the night before she was allegedly raped. More PTI
