STX Offshore & Shipbuilding wins US$150 mln order

SEOUL, Oct. 5 (Yonhap) -- STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co., South Korea's
fifth-largest shipyard, said Monday it has won a US$150 million order to build
three vessels.

Under the deal with Jan De Nul Group of Belgium, STX Offshore will deliver an
11,800 deadweight tons (DWT) vessel and two 6,500 DWT vessels by 2011, the
shipbuilder said.
DWT is the main measure of a ship's carrying capacity.
Shares of STX Offshore & Shipbuilding were trading at 14,850 won on the Seoul
bourse as of 10:10 a.m., up 1.02 percent.
