MALAYSIAN PM TAKES TIME OFF HIS BUSY SCHEDULE TO UPDATE BLOG

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, who
is on a four-day visit to France, took time off his busy schedule Tuesday to
update his blog at 1Malaysia.com.my.

In his latest posting from Paris, titled "Animated Malaysia", Najib spoke of
his visit to Cannes where he addressed participants of MIPCOMM, one of the
world's biggest annual trade shows for multimedia content developers.

"I am glad that my working visit to Paris coincided with this year's MIPCOMM
and I was able to make time to travel to Cannes from Paris to meet with key
people in the Multimedia content industry," he said.

Najib said content development, in particular digital animation, was an
industry that had vast potential in this cyber age, and that he believed that it
was an industry that should be explore thoroughly.

He said he also believed that the time was right for Malaysia to go into the
industry in a big way.

"I sincerely hope that Malaysian companies seize the moment and make the
most of the opportunities that are available to them now."

Najib said he was well aware that there were many young Malaysians who were
"incredibly creative."

"If we focus on this industry and nurture it well, it will provide
opportunities to such Malaysian youngsters, from the cities as well as from the
urban areas, to put their artistic ability to good use and generate better
income for themselves," he said.
