EARTHQUAKE HITS TAHUNA, NORTH SULAWESI
Jakarta, Oct. 8 (ANTARA) - An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit Tahuna waters, North Sulawesi, Thursday at 4.41 am Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB).
The quake's epicenter was located at 4.01 degrees northern latitude, 122.65 degrees eastern longitude, and at depth of 576 kilometers belowe sea level, 371 km northwest of Manado, and 386 km northeast, according to information of the national meteorological and geophysics office.
The temblor did not have the potential to trigger a tsunami.
