Makassar, S. Sulawesi, Oct 10 (ANTARA) - Forty foreign ambassadors are scheduled to attend a South Sulawesi Investment Luncheon (SSIL) in Jakarta on October 14 where Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo will be the keynote speaker, an official said.
"South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo will receive a diplomatic note from Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda to address the foreign envoys," head of the promotion division of the Regional Investment Board Sukarniaty Kondolele said here Saturday.
The foreign ambassadors who have confirmed their attendance at the luncheon included those of Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, South Africa, China, the U.S., Australia, and Japan.
"Such moment is the first time for a governor in Indonesia," he said, adding that this is a breakthrough that could boost the investment climate in South Sulawesi.
On the occasion, the governor will explain the opportunities and investment rulings on Domestic Investment (PMDN) and foreign investment (PMA).
Dozens of Indonesian prominent businessmen such as Chaerul Tanjung, Tommi Winata, Surya Paloh, and some others are scheduled to attend the presentation, Kondolele said.
In the meantime, Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo expressed optimism that the SSIL activity will be able to attract potential investors around the world to invest in the province.
"The government will certainly provide the necessary facilities for potential investors to invest in South Sulawesi," the governor added.
