SANA'A, Oct. 11 (Saba) - Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul Karim al-Arhabi met on Sunday in Sana'a with
Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator John Holmes.

The meeting focused on the humanitarian situation in northern Yemen where more than
150.000 people were affected by the clashes between the army and the Houthi rebels.
The two also dealt with mutual cooperation between Yemen and the U.N.
Al-Arhabi affirmed the Yemeni government is making major efforts to mitigate the
suffering of the displaced, pointing to accomplishments in this regard achieved in
association
with the donors.
For his part, Holmes said the U.N. will continue to help Yemen deliver aid for the
displaced in Saada and Amran, praising Yemen's effort to help the people.
Holmes arrived on Friday in Yemen for a visit to highlight the situation in the
north as the U.N. called for more aid to cope with the needs of the displaced.
