Top S. Korean arms trade official in Philippines to promote sale
SEOUL, Oct. 12 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's top arms trade official left Monday for the Philippines to promote his country's military equipment, his office said in a release.
During the trip ending Wednesday, Byun Moo-keun will meet with Philippine Defense
Minister Gilberto Teodoro and promote the sale of his country's military cargo
vessels, high-speed boats and vehicles, Seoul's Defense Acquisition Program
Administration said.
South Korea and the Philippines have held a series of discussions on ways to
improve bilateral arms trade since 1994 when they forged an agreement on such
cooperation.
