Culture Minister calls for holding symposium tackling sedition impacts

BAKU, Oct. 14 (Saba)- Minister of Culture Mahmmed al-Maflahi called on Wednesday the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) to organize a symposium over sedition culture and its disastrous impacts threatening the Islamic societies.

In his speech in the 6th round of he Islamic Conference for Culture Ministers, held
in the Azerbaijani city of Baku during 13-15 October, he affirmed that this point
of
time is witnessing a number of local wars and sectarian seditions overwhelming our
Islamic world such as that in Lebanon, Iraq, Pakistan and other regions in addition
to
that sedition in Yemen, Saada governorate. He unveiled Yemen readiness to host this
symposium in 2010.
The minister pointed out that tolerance and bridging the gaps among Islamic sects
is of a strategic importance in the Islamic culture and Yemen is having a special
focus
on this issue in its cultural programs.
