S. Korea beats Senegal 2-0 in football friendly


SEOUL, Oct. 14 (Yonhap) -- South Korea defeated Senegal 2-0 in a football
friendly in Seoul on Wednesday, continuing its winning streak toward the 2010
World Cup finals in South Africa.
The South Korean squad, who secured its seventh consecutive berth to the World
Cup finals in June, maintained control throughout the game, with Ki Sung-yong and
Oh Beom-seok scoring in the 42nd and 80th minutes, respectively.
With the victory over the African powerhouse, the South Korean squad, coached by
Huh Jung-moo, continued its streak of no defeats in the A matches over the past
year and eight months with 14 wins and 12 draws.
In their latest friendly held in Seoul on Sept. 5, the South Koreans downed the
Australians 3-1.
South Korea is scheduled to travel to Europe for another friendly with Denmark on
Nov. 15.
