Yemen, Saudi Arabia discuss agricultural cooperation

SANA'A, Oct.17 (Saba) - Yemen
and Saudi Arabia discussed here on Saturday the bilateral cooperation aspects
especially
in filed of plant protection and pest control in the two brotherly countries.
In his meeting with a plant protection delegation of Saudi Agriculture Ministry,
Undersecretary of Agriculture and Irrigation Ministry for Agricultural Services
Mohammad
al-Ghashm reviewed the two countries' efforts in field of desert locust control.
The meeting dealt with the available potentials and technical equipments in two
centers of desert locust in Yemen and kingdom so as to contribute to enhancing
their role
in combating any locust appearance in the coming phase.
The two sides pointed the importance of strengthening the bilateral cooperation in
field of conducting surveys to control the desert locust continually to serve the
agricultural
development and protect the agricultural crops in the two countries.
The Saudi delegation's visit aims at making a coordination program on the joint
surveying for the locust reproduction areas in the two countries.
The delegation got acquainted with the technical equipments and modern devices in
the general department of plant protection as well as the activities carried out b
y the
department within campaigns of plant pest control in Yemen.
