WEST JAVA INTERNATIONAL EXPO 2009 TO BE HELD IN NOVEMBER

Bandung, West Java Province, Oct. 18 (ANTARA) - West Java International Expo 2009 will be organized in Bandung, on November 8-12, 2009, to promote the province's investment opportunities.

A number of countries would be invited to participate in the expo, Netty Prasetyani Heryawan, chairwoman of the West Java provincial Family Welfare Movement (PKK), said here on Saturday.

As part of the preparations of the expo implementation, some 40 foreign envoys were invited to a Gala Dinner which was held at the residence of the West Java governor in Bandung.

The foreign envoys were among other things from China, Brazil, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Portugal, the Netherlands, Canada, Qatar, Iran, Turkey, and Palestine.

Netty Prasetyani, the West Java Governor's wife, said the Expo was aimed at promoting the province's potentials especially in the investment sector.

West Java was a very conducive for investment, she said trying to convince her guests at the Gala Dinner.

Investment opportunities in the province include the industries of geothermal, agriculture, toll road infrastructures, and a construction of an international airport.

Several countries have expressed their interest in establishing cooperation in the business sector with the West Java administration.

West Java has developed several investment zones for the industrial sector, among other things in 'Pantura' (northern Java coastal area), and Majalengka which is expected to become Kertajati Aerocity and is located near planned West Java International Airport.
