SANA'A, Oct.18 (Saba) - President
Ali Abdullah Saleh paid a visit on Sunday to Al-Thawrah General Hospital in the
capital Sana'a.
During his visit, President Saleh got acquainted with the work progress, medical
services and available medical devices and equipments in the hospital as well as
the constant
expansions the hospital witnessed for receiving the different medical specializations.
President Saleh praised the competence of the Yemeni medical cadres who work in the
hospital, affirming the importance of paying more attention to qualify the Yemeni
medical
cadres to gain more practical experiences in the surgery field.
He hailed the hospital's role in treating patients and offering great medical
services to the citizens, pointing that the hospital is an important medical
institution.
Meanwhile, the president noted the development witnessed by the health sector in
Yemen through establishing a number of public and private hospitals and medical
centers.
Saleh welcomed investments in the health sector according to the provisions and
standers that ensure to present advanced medical services and meet the patients'
demands,
indicating that existence of the specialized hospitals inside the country has
reduced traveling patients to abroad and contributed to developing the medical
services presented
in the country.
The hospital's capacity is over 1100 beds and has qualified medical cadres in
various medical fields including fields of heart diseases and surgery, kidney
diseases and
dialysis, cancer diseases, obstetrics and gynecology, head and eyes diseases and
