Seoul shares 0.41 pct up late morning
SEOUL, Oct. 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.41 percent higher late
Tuesday morning as foreign investors snapped up tech and financial shares,
analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) advanced 6.81 points to
1,655.88 as of 11:20 a.m.
Flat panel giant LG Display rose almost 3 percent and KB Financial Group, the
country's No. 2 financial services firm, gained 1.94 percent after top steelmaker
POSCO and KB said they will buy 250 billion won (US$214 million) worth of each
other's shares.
The local currency was trading at 1,167.6 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., up 3.4 won from Monday's close.
