Committee formed to tackle problems of Mareb Gas Power Station

SANA'A, Oct. 20
(Saba)- Headed by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar, the cabinet formed a committee to find
out urgent
solutions to operate Mareb Gas Power Station.
The cabinet asked from the committee to raise those solutions in coming meeting to
be approved and to take action.
The committee was formed from the ministries of oil, electricity, finance and legal
affairs as well as Safar Company.
Last week, the Ministry of Electricity and Energy is getting ready for the
implementation of a giant power project worth $ 40 million to monitor the National
Power Network
under the ESCADA system in the near future.
Director General of the Control Unit at the Ministry of Electricity and Energy said
the PB Power Inc. won in last Monday a contract to supply consultation services for
the
project which would be implemented with finance from the French Development Agency.
Tawfiq Abdu Ali said the project will consist of a central control unit in the
Secretariat Capital and five other control centers to be based in Sana'a, Aden,
Hodeidah,
Taiz and Hadramout.
On the other hand, some ministers were criticized in the meeting because bad
performance in benefiting for financial allocations to set up projects of their
ministries which
have been funded by donors.
