U.S. not to lift sanctions, nor normalize ties with nuke-armed N. Korea: Clinton

WASHINGTON, Oct. 21 (Yonhap) -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said
Wednesday that the United States will not lift sanctions on North Korea or
normalize ties unless Pyongyang takes irreversible steps for its
denuclearization.

Clinton made the remarks in a speech to a forum hosted by the U.S. Institute of
Peace at Renaissance Mayflower Hotel here, addressing the U.N. sanctions imposed
on the North after its nuclear and missile tests earlier this year.
