JAKARTA'S ANCOL PARK NOW EXPLORABLE ON BICYCLE

Jakarta, Oct 22 (ANTARA) - Visitors to the Ancol Park in North Jakarta can now tour the whole recreational area on bicycles provided by the park free of charge.
Budi Karya Sumadi, director of the company managing the park, PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk, said in a press release received here on Thursday, the free transportation means was made available to the public to promote people's environmental awareness and help reduce carbon emission and maintain people's health.

All of these effort, Budi said, reflected Ancol Park's commitment to expanding its business as a "green" company.

The Ancol Dream Park now has a bicycle track at Karnaval Beach and a 5,000-square-meter bicycle track in the Pasar Seni area.

The cycling facilities in the Ancol Dream Park are named Ancol Commuter based on the philosophy that Ancol is an area consisting of various units like an urban recreation in need of transportation as a means to connect one location to another.

The bicycle facilities are expected to become the main transportation mode in the further development of Ancol Dream Park.

Budi said bicycle users and pedestrians will be the main priority at all tourist sites in the Ancol Park area.
