MALARIA-FREE ARAB PENINSULA FUND TO HOLD FIRST MEETING

SANA'A, Oct. 23 (Saba) - The fund formed to free the Arab Peninsula
of malaria by 2015 is to hold its first meeting on Saturday in
Sana'a.

Member of the Executive Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Bloc
Health Council Ahmed al-Nomani said the two-day meeting, which would
be attended by representatives from the Arabian Gulf States and
Yemen, will launch practical steps to implement its foundation goal:
to free the Arabian Peninsula from malaria.

The meeting will review the general framework of the strategic plan
drawn up by the ministry of Public Health and Population in Yemen to
handle current changes and set out a future plan and a mechanism for
implementation phases and performance indicators, he said.

The meeting will, furthermore, deal with the shares of the founders
of the fund in an attempt to know about the sums already transferred
into the executive office as well as other financial topics.
