TN-DELEGATION 2 LAST
The Sri Lankan government plans to resettle the civilians
in a phased manner as it says that it is carrying out demining
works in the former LTTE-held areas in the north.

Colombo had Thursday said it had sent nearly 42,000
Tamils to their hometowns for resettlement and 35,000 more
would be resettled within the next fortnight.
"We also briefed Prime Minister about the demining in Sri
Lanka. He gave a patient hearing to us and said he would do
everything possible," Kanimozhi said.
All the MPs, barring DMK's T K S Elangovan and VCK's Thol
Thirumavalavan, met the Prime Minister.
They had earlier submitted a report to Tamil Nadu Chief
Minister M Karunanidhi based on their visit. PTI ETB
