This is the third visit by an Indian President to the UK
after President S Radhakrishnan's June 1963 trip and S
Venkataraman's visit in April 1990.
Queen Elizabeth II will host a banquet in honour of the
visiting dignitary at Windsor Castle on October 27 where
Scottish bagpipers will offer traditional entertainment after
the meal.
As many as 31,000 Indian students are currently studying
in the UK and Britain has been providing substantial
developmental aid to India.
Between 2002 and 2007, UK provided one billion pounds of
developmental aid to India, while between 2008 and 2011, it
provided 825 million pounds, including 500 million for health
and education.
UK also has about two million people of Indian origin,
the largest ethnic minority in the country. PTI HSR
