Yemen tourism promotion campaign ongoing in Europe
MILAN, Oct. 23 (Saba) - Yemen on
Friday launched in Italy's city of Milan a tourism promotion campaign that comes
within
the second such campaigns Yemen has launched in Europe.
The campaign was organized by the Tourism ministry, the Tourism Promotion Board
and the Italian Interview Firm for Public Relations and comes within this year's
half-month
tourism promotion in France, Italy and Germany.
Many activities including folklore dances and artist events took place in the
Temporary Shop Hall in Milan that were attended by chairman of the Tourism
Promotion Board
Ahmed al-Bail and interested Italians.
A photo gallery of Yemen was opened at the hall including photographs picked from
around Yemen.
On the margins of the events, a press conference is expected to be held in which
deputy chairman of the Tourism Promotion Board Alwan al-Shaibani, who is also the
chairman
of the board of directors of the Universal Company, will highlight the tourist
sector in Yemen.
The campaign started on Thursday on the duck of a swimming ship in the Seine River
in the heart of France's capital Paris.
Thursday's events were organized in collaboration with the Cultural Attaché at the
Yemeni Embassy in France.
During the event attended by representatives of French tour firms, Yemen's
ambassador to the country called on French officials to limit warnings over travel
to Yemen, assuring
Yemen is stable and security prevails throughout it.
Khalid al-Akwa'a said lifting warnings on travel to some of Yemen's parts will
significantly contribute to antiterrorism efforts and support Yemen partnership in
the war
against this global phenomenon.
He highlighted Yemen-France deep rooted and cooperation in various fields, first
and foremost in the security area, appreciating France's understanding of the
situation
in Yemen.
Many activities were organized including speeches on Yemen and its tourism
products, its location and arts inside it.
The campaign was launched October 18 to promote Yemen tourism includes Paris, Milan
and Frankfort.
The first campaign was launched in November 2007.
