PM: ADMINISTRATIVE FORMS, COMBATING CORRUPTION TOP GOVT'S PRIORITIES
SANA'A, Oct.24 (Saba) - The financial and administrative reforms and
combating corruption top the list of priorities of the successive
governments, Prime Minister Ali Mujawar said on Saturday.
Inaugurating the modern management methodology of the General
Authority of Rural Water Supply Projects (GARWSP), Mujawar pointed
out that the authority was able to present a workable model for the
success of the government's policies in field of administrative
reform and combating corruption, Mujawar said in the ingurgitation.
He expressed his satisfaction for the success and accomplishments
achieved by the authority in executing the administrative reforms
phases in cooperation with Ministry of Civil Service and Social
Security.
The premier affirmed offering all support aspects to the authority
so as to enable it to continue in its financial and administrative
reform and realize the desired decentralization in this sector.
He pointed the importance of this process by which the government
seeks to address the imbalances and remove the distortions in our
economic, financial and administrative structures so as to serve the
nationwide development process.
Meanwhile, the premier indicated that the state, through its
keenness on combating corruption institutionally, aims at
eradicating the corruption hotbeds and enhancing the environment to
help the success of development programs and policies.
Mujawar called upon all to use water resources optimally and develop
and preserve them, adding that the authority's experience in the
decentralization system should be followed by all other local
projects and the state's institutions.
He valued the current cooperation between the authority and the
Dutch friends which helped to present a live picture for the success
of plans and polices based on the successful cooperation between
local and foreign experiences.
In this respect, Mujawar confirmed that the government will meet its
obligations to provide the necessary sums for the authority
according to the modern national strategy of water in order to
achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
The modern management methodology represents the organizational
frame for achieving the GARWSP's vision related to implementing the
projects and covering the needs of rural population to water and
sanitation services with participation of local society and donors.
