Yemen plans border investment conference

SANA'A, Oct. 25 (Saba) - Preparations have
got underway for a investment conference Yemen plans to organize at the Alwadi'a
area on
the border with Saudi Arabia, Transport minister said on Saturday.
Representatives from the public and private sectors as well as heads of the Yemeni
communities abroad are expected at the event.
The announcement was made during the meeting that gathered minister Khalid Ibrahim
al-Wazeer and head of the Yemeni community in the Saudi northern province.
During the meeting, al-Wazeer also said that sites would be identified for Yemeni
businessmen who wish to set up investments on Yemen land border outlets.
Moreover, al-Wazeer said Yemen, Lebanon, Jordan and Saudi Arabia had agreed to
replace the current triptik system with a temporary stay system, assuring the
government is
doing exerting utmost efforts to make it easy for Yemeni expatriate to invest in
their homeland.
