YEMEN CALLS ON INT'L COMMUNITY, ARAB WORLD TO SUPPORT SOMALIA

SANA'A, Oct. 27 (Saba) - Yemen called on Tuesday the international
community, Arab nation and in particular neighbouring countries to
double efforts to support Somalia's security, stability and unity.

"Yemen will spare no efforts to support Somalia", President Ali
Abdullah Saleh said during his meeting with Somali President Sheikh
Sharif Sheikh.

Saleh also renewed the supportive position of Yemen to bring peace
and stability to Somalia, affirming that security of Somalia is a
part from Yemen's and the entire region's security.

President Sheikh briefed President Saleh on the developments in
Somalia and the efforts taken by the Somali government to reinstate
security into the country.

He also expressed his appreciation of Yemen's efforts in areas of
receiving and caring of the Somali refugees.

The meeting also reviewed the regional developments concerning Yemen
and Somalia topped by the situations in Somalia and the Horn of
Africa region in addition to dealing with the bilateral relations
between Yemen and Somalia.
