YEMEN REPORTS DEATH OF 16 SWINE FLU AFFECTED CASES
SANA'A, Oct. 27 (Saba) Yemen registered 16 death cases because of
swine flu (H1N1), a spokesperson of the cabinet said on Tuesday.
The spokesperson and minister of information Hassan al Lawzi said
that the country registered 16 cases out of 1618 cases died because
of the virus.
He revealed those three schools and four classes closed, saying that
24 cases discovered in schools in Hajjah, Aden, Amran, Ibb, Dhamar
and Sana'a capital in addition to four cases in Sana'a University.
The first confirmed H1N1-infected case was announced in Yemen last
June.
According to the Saba-run al-Syasiah paper, public and private
hospitals in Yemen have refused to receive any swine Flu-infected
cases.
Al-Thawrah Hospital was the only that received H1N1 cases and has
provided isolation rooms for them, however, these rooms have not
been prepared medically for such kind of disease, some Yemeni
doctors said.
