New Delhi, Oct 27 (PTI) A month after Central Information
Commission (CIC) asked it to assist in setting up an RTI
office for the Leader of the Opposition, the Lok Sabha (Lok
Sabha (Lower House of Indian Parliament) secretariat is yet to
comply with the direction.

In contrast, the Rajya Sabha Rajya Sabha (Upper House of
Indian Parliament) has taken a cue from the order, which was
given to the Lower House, and appointed a Public Information
Officer and Appellate authority for the office of Leader of
the Opposition in the Upper House.
When contacted, Joint Secretary P K Grovar, who is also
the Central Public Information Officer of the Lok Sabha, said
the copy of the order from Central Information Commission has
not been received.
Sources in the office of L K Advani also said there were
no instructions from Lok Sabha Secretariat.
The CIC staff could not confirm whether the orders were
sent to the Lower House.
The Rajya Sabha replying to an RTI request of S C
Agrawal said leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha and his
officer were aware of the verdict.
The CPIO for the office is S P Bhatia whereas the first
appellate authority is S Dash for office of leader of
opposition, currently held by Arun Jaitley, Room no 43,
Parliament House New Delhi, the Rajya Sabha said in the reply.
