GCC Interior Ministers start 28th Session 3 Muscat

Prince Ahmad said the meeting comes under unstable security situation, including
the situation in Iraq which makes it an essential matter to work for the stability
and unity of Iraq as well as safety of their sons.

He said the meeting of the interior ministers of Iraq’s neighboring countries
recently held in Sharam al-sheikh had underlined the importance of exerting efforts
for the preservation of Iraq’s unity, sovereignty and independence, and to
refrain from using its territories or the territories of the neighboring countries
as places for training, lodging or financing terror elements or as places for
perpetrating antagonistic activities.

As regards Yemen, he said effort should be exerted to ensure the safety and
security of Yemen and to forge a call for refraining from intervention in its
domestic affairs as well as promoting close cooperation for realizing its security
and stability in a manner that realizes the aspirations of the Yemenis.
