Four schools for cops to impart jungle warfare against ultras

Patna, Oct 27 (PTI) The Indian government has decided to
establish institutes imparting training on jungle warfare to
men in uniforms in India's eastern state of Bihar to take on
the ultras, a senior official has said.

"Suitable jawans from the state police and Bihar Military
Police (BMP) will receive three months' training by retired
army officials at four schools selected by the Centre in
Bihar," Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters)
Neelmani said.
The training would be imparted at the schools which will
come up at BMP-2 HQ at Dehri, BMP-3 HQ at Gaya, BMP-4 at
Dumraon and BMP-15 at Valmikinagar, Neelmani said.
The Indian government would allot a sum of Rs 1.5 crore
for opening each of the schools for training, he said.
It has also launched a programme in collaboration with
the state for creating special infrastructure, including
strengthening of police installations and construction of
roads and helipads in the naxal-hit districts, Neelmani said.
He said the programme would be launched in Gaya and
Aurangabad where the naxalites have strong presence.
"All the expenses on the programme will be borne by the
centre which has released a sum of Rs 18.9 crore for the
purpose," he added. PTI
